Epic Of The Fata Morgana

The Legend Saga: Chapter 2
Written By: Taylor Howe

Legend has it...

This is the event that has been recounted as the turning point upon the history of the Old World...and perhaps the beginning of a series of Cataclysmic Events...

That it was during the fall of the Mourning Star Angel...the nine Realms felt the largest cosmic shift since that of The Obscurus Dusk...

The Chaos Divine, as well as Lucian with it, came tumbling out of the Divinity Realm by a thunderous smiting force. A force so strong that even the Divine Wrath, whom was wielding the Ascendant Lance Of The Mourning Star, was too blasted back into the Realm in which he came.

A once picturesque symbolic place of perfect balance, the Chaos Divine, was responsible for containing objects of the rarest and most sought after resources; was now shattered. Pieces of supernatural power, collections of celestial knowledge, along with objects of dark obscurity...were all freed from this vault of the heavens.  It was with them, that they emitted, a powerful shock wave of rippling destruction into the endless nothingness. A ripple of sheer unencumbered Majikal force...a force that could not help, but draw the attention of the scouring Void Hollows of each of the nine Realms...

This force, accompanied by the wings of the purest of all the Angels, caused each of these once heavenly tools of flight, to fragment even further...feather by feather they fell into the dark emptiness of the Void to only have their tumultuous powers amplified by this reverberating, rippling force.

It was without question these transpired events of this clash between the 'Burning Ones' began to severely alter the state of the Old World...

As these seven disintegrating wings of the Mourning Star Angel continued to add to the spiralling descent into madness...they also appeared to proceed to slice through the cosmos like that of glowing heavenly steel. It was the very fabric of reality that was now on the brink of splitting open...and there seemed to be nothing anyone or anything could do to stop it...

There was no other Celestial being, not from the Divinity Realm, or other wise...that felt this catastrophic shift in Majik, like that of The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn did...

He among the most powerful of all active beings; and the very source of all Cosmic Majik, felt this great schism, like a divisive tear upon the axis of Good and Evil. A tear so violent, that the Void itself began to fray from the very plains of all existence...

It was for the first time, that He could recount, since the devastating events of 'Battle Of The Ever-Ice'...when, even the beings that were thought to be the most pure, appeared to be somewhat corrupt...however the results of this corruption was most destined to be felt for centuries, and perhaps even eons...if He did not make at least an attempt to remedy the situation...

Having little time to react...and even less time to prepare, The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn did the only thing He knew He could do...sacrifice almost everything in a desperate attempt to quickly mend the tear and correct the shift in balance...

For He knew that it was imperative that the Void remain whole...or else existence itself would be absorbed into the Event Horizon...

However, it was by doing this...He knew, He too would now become, like His brothers and sisters before him...a magnet to the Void Hollows...and as a result, become the hunted...but that was chance he had to take...if of course what He was about to do did not kill him first...

In this swift decision, came an even swifter attempt at a correction...which He was hoping in turn, to be able to create a counter-ripple...that, if manifested properly throughout the cosmos, could use Majik to repair itself...

Not only did The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn discard His great wisdom during this moment of haste...but relinquish an even greater sum of His own power...

By Him reaching out from His sheltered Bounty Realm...deep into the fragmenting part of the Void, He used His ever-expanding enlightened mind...and that, combined with the intense power of His physical presence, He once again found Himself bound to the greater Cosmic Majik of the universe...like a brilliant light returning to it's origin point...

Using His great Cosmic Majik, combined with the first ever recorded display of 'Ancient Dark Blood Majik', he drained his fellow Elders...of not only some of their ever-dwindling life force...but of their Celestial Blood...

Calling upon all these remaining dormant powers of his once great siblings...The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn managed to catch every feather of the seven severed wings of the Divine Being...and as a result sacrificed a large portion of his soul to the collapsing hungry Void Hollows, which now surrounded Him...

With a combination swirling bright light of each Majik Void Hollow, His energized burst of Cosmic Majik, and a harrowing stream of Celestial Crimson...The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn manifested the greatest event to have ever been witnessed since The Illustrious Dawn...this event, in turn, now became the origin point of what legend knows as 'The Boundless Riptide'...

A confluence of ethereal bodies of majestic aqueous, The Boundless Riptide, became a surge of ethereal bright light and darkest shadows...these bodies of pure celestial liquid, were not bound by any laws of nature or any Majik alike...these are the ethereal bodies our written Legends refer to as 'The Pools Of Lethe'.

Some would have believed that these events were the necessary consequence in order to save the Old World...or others perhaps...an unforeseen damnation, in which the centuries to follow would be plagued...But either way...there was a single intended result of this cohesion of unbridled power...the rifting Void that surrounded the Old World had to be sealed...and sealed it was...

However, it was with that magnificent result, that another two unforeseen consequences emerged...

The birth of The Ninth Elder Of The Dawn's very own 'Original' and the mysterious conception of a fabled place beyond the Void...

A daughter conceived by 'The Boundless Riptide', that The Ninth Elder would affectionately call..."Ephideon"

And...a place fed by these Legendary Pools Of Lethe...a place to be cloaked to the eyes of all non-majikal beings...hidden away by an impermeable shroud of cosmic mists...a fabled place that Legend now calls the..."Fata Morgana"
